What is a linear drain?

Depending on the size of the bathroom we have, we can plan a bath or shower in it. It is an undeniable fact that bathing in a bathtub after a day of hard work is a wonderful type of relaxation, but not everyone can afford it. Placing a shower cubicle in the bathroom, in turn, is a more economical solution.

Traditional acrylic shower trays are available on the market, but not only the choice of shower trays is much wider. The offer also includes shower trays made of: steel, ceramic and made of composites or natural stone.

However, recently a real „bathroom hit” has become the installation of linear drainage. It successfully succumbs to the tastes of more and more Poles. Both traditional shower trays and aesthetic-looking linear shower drainage have their pros and cons.

Linear shower drains

More and more often in bathrooms you can meet different type of drainage – linear drains, which are handled without traditional, acrylic shower trays. In the West, they are already an indispensable element of every bathroom. This fashion has recently arrived in almost each country. Such drains look aesthetically pleasing, and with a bit of imagination they can take on an original, even unusual form. Thanks to the linear drain, everyone can plan their unique shower stall.

What kind of drainage choose?

There are many materials available on the market, which is why the cab can take an unusual shape. The shower tray itself can be made of gres tiles, ceramics, mosaics and stone. The use of a linear drain completely changes the appearance of the bathroom. With it you can freely plan the size of the shower, because we are not limited by the dimensions of traditional acrylic shower trays offered on the market. In addition, the linear drains optically enlarge the bathroom.
Thanks to the aesthetically-looking strip, the entire shower tray structure is hidden in the floor. It should be covered with tiles. In this way, we obtain a surface that, thanks to the appropriate slope, will allow drainage of water. The outflow itself can have a linear or point form. It can be located in the middle of the floor, on the side or near the wall.

The choice between a shower tray and a line drain depends on the bathroom surface, needs and, above all, financial possibilities. The linear drains are definitely an interesting solution for every bathroom. They can optically enlarge its size and look modern. Such solution is becoming more and more popular especially among interior architects. This is a top-class trend in current days.
